Cosmetic Tattoo Removal and Correction.
Eyebrows, lips, blush, and tattoo freckles.
Cosmetic tattoos don’t always age, fade or heal the way you expect. Eyebrows can change colour or shape as trends change, lip blush can fade unevenly, and pigments that once looked natural may become too warm, cool, dark or simply no longer suit you. Sometimes the goal isn’t complete removal at all — you may just want to lighten existing pigment enough to allow your cosmetic tattoo artist to create something new.
Piko Laser Clinic takes a careful, evidence-based approach to cosmetic tattoo removal and correction. Using the Quanta Discovery Pico, treatment is tailored to the pigment, its location, your skin type and how the tattoo responds. Depending on your goals, treatment may involve complete removal, partial fading, reshaping or colour correction.
Why cosmetic tattoo pigments are different.
Cosmetic tattoo pigments can behave quite differently from traditional body-art ink. They may contain combinations of carbon-based pigments, iron oxides, titanium dioxide and organic pigments. This can make their response to laser less predictable, particularly with eyebrow and lip pigments.
Some lighter, red, pink, beige or flesh-toned pigments can undergo paradoxical darkening, sometimes referred to as oxidation, when exposed to laser energy. Rather than immediately becoming lighter, part of the pigment may initially turn grey, brown or black. This does not necessarily mean the pigment cannot be removed, but it may change the treatment pathway and require further sessions using a different wavelength.
For this reason, I may recommend a small test patch before treating the entire area when the pigment composition or likely response is uncertain.
Lighten. Reshape. Correct. Remove.
Cosmetic tattoo removal doesn't have to be all or nothing — treatment can be tailored to where you want to go next.
