About Kerry.
Registered Nurse | Laser Safety Officer | Founder of Piko Laser Clinic
Piko’s founder, Kerry, is a Registered Nurse with more than 30 years of healthcare experience across clinical nursing, research and patient care. Before establishing Piko Laser Clinic, Kerry spent more than a decade working within clinical research and evidence-based healthcare environments. That background continues to influence the way the clinic practises today.
We naturally want to understand why a treatment works, what the evidence tells us, what the potential risks are and whether the expected benefit justifies those risks. That means we don't believe in treating everyone who walks through the door. Sometimes we recommend treatment. Sometimes we recommend waiting. Sometimes we suggest a different approach or further medical assessment. And sometimes we will advise that laser simply isn't the right treatment. We believe that is an important part of providing responsible clinical care.
Why Choose a Nurse-Led Clinic?
A nursing background means we look beyond the area being treated.
Medical history, medications, previous procedures, healing response, inflammation, pigmentation risk, underlying health conditions and other factors can all influence whether laser treatment is appropriate and how the skin may respond. This is particularly important as Piko Laser Clinic has expanded beyond tattoo removal into scar remodelling, pigment and vascular treatments and hair regeneration, where identifying when not to treat can be just as important as knowing how to treat.
Our goal is for you to understand your options, the expected benefits, the limitations and the potential risks before deciding whether treatment is right for you.

Focus on Patient Safety + Realistic Expectations + Long Term Approach to Skin Health
Treatment recommendations are guided by current clinical understanding and evidence, your individual skin and health history and your response to laser treatment. Patients receive honest information about likely outcomes and treatment limitations. Sometimes this means recommending a slower approach, modifying a treatment plan, or referring you elsewhere when needed.
